Malaysia again, this time with Mika and Papa! Part I

We have been preparing for this trip since January 2012 and now here we are. Me and my husband are very excited for this.

When we went back here in Malaysia, my father-in-law and my brother joined us.  They stayed here in Malaysia for 14 days and of course those 14 days are full packed! We don’t want to waste time.

Sector Komunikasi
Luckily, on their first day here, it was a public holiday and thus we have another day to spare.  We went to Merdeka Square (or Dataran Merdeka).
In this area, they have this big flagpole and large TV where events can be shown.

If I were to look at it, I can compare it to “Luneta Park”, this is where special occasions were held.
Merdeka Square
Merdeka Square is just in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building

It was very hot because "Mr Sun was very excited at that time" but we still managed to get some shots!

Just right beside the Merdeka Square is the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery.  This is where the famous Arch are made.  The KL City Gallery shows the history of KL, from where it started and where it is right now.  It was very interesting to know!

In front of Kuala Lumpur Gallery
I have always wanted to go to this place because they have the life size I      "heart" KL because it feels like me. :)

The Arch were amazing, they even have a view room on how these artwork are made.  No wonder these pieces of arts are very expensive.  Making one piece entails a lot of patience.

Next, we stopped by the Textile Museum.

The Textile Museum, or Muzium Tekstil, is housed in the building which was originally built for the Federated Malay States Railway.  This is considered as part of the walking tour of the heritage sites of Kuala Lumpur.

In here, all of the textiles, ornaments and jewelleries from way before were preserved and maintained for the future generation to see.

They also have videos on how these beautiful textiles and accessories are made.  You can learn the art of batik making and weaving using indegenous materials such as kain gerus, pua, songket and telepuk. I am not a fan of sarongs and ornaments but in this museum I was able to appreciate their beauty.

A few walk from the Textile Museum led us to Pasar Seni (Central Market).

The Central market is one of the visited place in KL for its originality and creativity in promoting Malaysian Arts, crafts and cultural heritage to Malaysians and foreign nationals.

The place is very cozy because it has AC and people were all very accommodating.

They bought souvenirs already so that it will not take much of their time while we were travelling.  The famous keychain, coin purse and pashmina was part of their "pasalubong".

Before we head for lunch, my brother and father in law tried the "Fish Spa", they said it was fun and ticklish.  Worth the experience.

Then we had lunch at Old Town White Coffee.

Just so we will not waste any time, we went ahead to The Pavilion Mall just to look around and rest for a bit.

Just with the right timing, the time that we went there was sort of like "car show" where there were three cars at the center of the mall for public viewing.

There were inflatable sofas were we rested for like 30 minutes.  it was very timely because we were very tired because of walking, it was also very relaxing to just sit and look at the people around us.

After a few minutes of rest, we started to walk again to visit Philippine Embassy.  Not that we are up to something but just for my brother and father in law to see the place and have some photo opps.

Just a few more walks and we are already in KLCC.  First, we went to eat dinner at Nando's (my favorite peri peri) and then the last stop for our day's travel is the Twin Tower.

A trip to Malaysia is not complete if one will not see the Twin Tower with its lights open.  Very nice to look at!

This is the end of the day for now.  I can tell that their first day was indeed a very tiring one but soon it will all pay off!
