Happy Friday: Who is more clever?

I love to sleep.  If and when I am sleepy, i just look for a spot and I can make my way to sleep easily.  In as much easy I can sleep, it's equally challenging to wake me up! Trust me, what I am saying is very true! You can even ask Sweets about it.

I very much utilize the "Snooze" button in my alarm clock and Sweets is telling me that my alarm clock does not work!

He always complain that every time my alarm went on, he was the one who is awaken and not me :D

Then one Saturday morning, I set my alarm to 7am and "again" it did not work.  Sweets thought that he had to do something about it.  Then at 8am...

Noel:  Meron akong ininstall na bagong alarm clock!

KL:     Okie (half asleep)

Noel:  Ayan mag aalarm na yan!

Then the Alarm clock did its wonder!  

Noel:  Shake mo for 5 seconds para tumigil ung alarm!

KL:     (Shaking)

Noel:  Lakasan mo para gumana!

KL:     (Still Shaking)

Noel:   Ayan!

KL:      Okie gising na ako! @_@

OMG! This alarm clock did worked! Nagising talaga ako!

This is how it will look like :)

When the alarm is on, you will hear the buzz sound and when you look at your phone this is what you will see!

Then you have 5 seconds to shake it!

If you are unable to shake firmly then the 5 second shake time will reset back to 5.  

Oh wow they also give encouragement for you to shake it!

Well since I am half asleep then I was not able notice it.

Then once you are done you did a great job!

Wow you are wide awake because of what you just did!

Now who is clever? the App or the Husband? hehe!

KL: Group thesis.
Noel: Ano ba ung sayo?
KL: Individual thesis.
Noel: Eh individual thesis naman pala ginawa mo, para ka namang eng eng kung mag oovernight ka pa sa ibang bahay para gumawa ng thesis mo!
KL: Basta mabait akong anak! Period!

Missing my Family ~ what to do?

It's Holy week and what do we do this week aside from remembering Jesus Christ?   We all go back to our provinces to have some time with our families and loved ones.

This is the first time that my husband and I will not go back to the Philippines for the Holy Week and (somehow) it feels sad because we will not be able to see our families in person.

I have been thinking.. since I am unable to see my family in person why not think of things that will make me remember how "kwela" my family is.  

This way I will not miss them that much and I will have a smile on my face.

This presentation happened two years ago, when we had the reunion "Celebration of Life" in San Pablo City Laguna.  It was sponsored by our Auntie Joy and Auntie Rhorie who came all the way from Florida and Australia to have this celebration.

They wanted to have fun and thus injected a game in our reunion.  Each family will present (based on the theme: Hawaiian") and there is a corresponding prize for the winner.

Diaz Family has always been competitive and I will not let this event pass without us not performing.  Thus, tadaah!  This is what we have presented!

Then everyone were very happy to see all of us go all out for this presentation!

Ah what a very wonderful memory to look back!
I hope that we will have this chance again!  Hopefully soon!

Time to Eat! (Again!)

We had a very good opportunity last Saturday night to go out and eat in one of the recommended "Steamboats" here in Selangor.  I do not know where else is good but I know this one for sure!


It's at Yuen's Buffet Steamboat!
Our main goal was to eat and I can definitely tell you that this place satisfied our needs and it even exceeded expectations!

Yuen has two floors, but before you can come in, you need to queue first because normally there were a lot of people dining in.  When we went there, we only waited 10 minutes for our turn.

I am familiar with how steamboat works but this one was my first time for a buffet!  When I got to see all the food, I was like "Whoah" it was really a buffet and there were a lot of food to choose from!

Each table has their own burners and all we have to do is to request for our soup choice and then go grab all the food that we can eat!

After finding our table we then proceeded to the buffet table!
Foooood! Waiting for us!! Wowowowow!

There were squid balls, fish balls, crab stick, tofu (all sorts). A lot! Period!

There were sea food, clams, fish, choose your pick and they have it!






















They also have a lot of veggies, mushrooms and mees!
They also have rice and other dishes!

Then finally to satisfy your sweet tooth, they have ice cream!
I think that's about it!

Oh Yes! Before I forget, they also have these yummy Chicken Wings!
 


These chicken wings that you are looking at were very precious to us!  We did not finish it immediately because we savor its taste up to our fingertips!

The sweet taste if just tempting to have another wing!

Why do we need to savor each chicken wing? Simply because we got it from a battle! Yes from a battle!

It's buffet right, but these precious ones will only last 30 seconds!

It was indeed a well deserved dinner!  We were so full that it was difficult to breath!  We will definitely try this one again! :)

Monday oh Monday! What are your To Dos?

You had a blast from your weekend getaway and you are still in the midst of figuring out what you want do or should do on the first day of the work week.

Although I may sound different (because I love Mondays!) many people does not enjoy the day! They have their own reasons and I do not intend to fight with it.

Anyways, as I was browsing through and doing some research of my own, I came along with this simple photo.

It was funny but then it struck me! This is really happening!
Just a couple of weeks ago, our daily news paper here in Malaysia "The Star" published in their front page that in the survey that they completed, in an 8 hour work day, only 4 hours is productive.  

True or not, it is our own responsibility to find out.

An article was also published whether Employers can allow their employees to surf Facebook and other social network at the office.

At the end of the day, whether you have surfed any social networking sites or not, it is the productivity that counts! On another thought, we (as employees) should also be cautious in using company property and time.  It's only 8 hours a day and then after that we have all the time to use for our personal things!

Happy Friday: Let's Cartoon ourselves!

 







A lot of times I always ask my husband to take pictures of us doing a lot of things, even modeling and making faces.  I always wanna have fun with pictures because that's what we really do in real life!






It is like sharing our feelings to the people who loves us!

 About a couple of weeks ago, there was this app that was widely used and I have seen a lot of it in some social networking sites. It was the imadeface application!

It was cool since you have the chance to cartoonize yourself.  However, it was quite difficult to find the exact same me and Noel in that app!  Maybe we have a so unique face!  I asked Jose's help to create our very own imadeface and he did a good job!

I am in Love all over again!

I was very fascinated when Zoren Legaspi pulled out his wedding proposal and wedding ceremony for Carmina Villaruel.  It was all like a fairy tale and I can't help but the tears to fall and to smile all over again.  It was just a dream come true to any women inlove!

Wedding proposals can go beyond as far as what Zoren did or as simple as what other men do.  The impact depends on how it was delivered and how deeply the couple is in love with each other. I can't help but reminisce about what happened with Sweets' proposal and I just keep on falling in love again and again and again!

Just now I watched a "not so usual" wedding proposal and it made me smile once more! Very creative indeed!



See, falling in love is the best feeling one could have!
If you love someone, can you please tell it to the person! You don't want to keep your silence and regret it forever!

If the person knows that you love them, by all means please tell it to them again and again and again!

Movie-nspiration: Rise of the Guardians

I have been watching a couple of movies these past few days as it really gives me the relaxation that I need.  With that I wanted to share some of the things that I thought of after watching this movie.

This movies was meant for kids but since I am a kid at heart, I felt it! (Naks!).

When I was younger I wished that Santa Clause was real.

Kids from the US wished that the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, Sandman, Jack Frost were all real.

This movie for me is a representation that whether these things are all real or not it will still depend on us; on our faith. 

 

In our life we will come across things that will test what and how much we believe in and it's a matter of believing rather than just telling.

Candy Crush Saga: My thoughts!

 

One of the talked about games right now is the "Candy Crush SAGA".  Personally, I got involved with this game because of my husband, he was talking about how tempting the candies were and because of that we both started to play it.  

One downside is that it lessened our time to talk because we were focused on our individual games but still it's a lot of fun.

I don't intend to explain how the game works or to share some cheats because it's all over the internet.  What I wanted to share are the things that I realized while playing this game.  Yes there were some realizations and reflections involved (this is just me! :D)

1. I cannot pass my level  

I was trying all my best to pass my level but I just can't.  There were many obstacles and it seemed like forever!  The jellies were not popping, the ingredients were not going down and the chocolate keeps on spreading!  What to do?

My thought:

Ask for HELP! Yes! Since I know my husband already passed this level then all I need to do was to ask help from him.  It's either I will ask for his technique or will ask him to play my level! Done!  This principle applies in everything that we do, if we cannot complete something then we should "Ask help".

2. My husband cannot pass his level

Well, I cannot play his game (because he is better than me) but when I got into his level, for some weird reason I can pass it immediately.

My thought:

In anything that we do, whether it's work or game, people play it differently.  It can take my husband forever to pass one level and it will only take me five tries.  This is what you call luck or sometimes simplifying things!

This is a simple game but I can still relate it to real life situations and challenges.  I hope you can as well :)

Always remember, sweet things happen to sweet people.  Continue smiling because you never know who from the people around you need it the most :)

Happy Friday: My two P's!

Sometimes I feel that I am over analyzing things but one thing I learned is that over analyzing things will just make my mind go crazy and make things complicated.  My rule of thumb: Think Simple!

If you want to do something, then go for it.  If things are not going the way that you want them to be, then by all means do something about it! Simple!

How is this related to my blog for my two P's?
I simply put, for me there are two types of people in the skill world. 
The Professional and the Passionate people. 

In wikipedia they are defined as:

A professional is a person who is engaged in a certain activity, or occupation, for gain or compensation as means of livelihood; such as a permanent career, not as an amateur or pastime.

Passion (from the Ancient Greek verb πάσχω (paskho) meaning to suffer) is a term applied to a very strong feeling about a person or thing. Passion is an intense emotion compelling feeling, enthusiasm, or desire for something. When an individual is passionate about their occupation they tend to be less obsessive about their behaviors while on their job, and result in greater work and extra-work satisfaction.

I believed in every word that wiki mentioned but not because of work but when I saw when my husband play Bowling.

Bowling has always been his favorite sport, even way back in the Philippines.

Being here in Malaysia is really not a show stopper, he even brought his bowling ball here to make sure that he can still play.

We were lucky that his company has a free Bowling every Wednesday and my husband took advantage of it by playing every week (or as much as he can).

He is not a professional bowler but because he is passionate in what he does he continuously improves and I know that he will get better!

In anything that we do, whether it's our work, hobby, sport or anything; being passionate is the start of something good BUT (here is my big BUT again :)) it is equally important to have the support system in doing the things that we like.

Support may come from family and friends and it crucial in meeting success!  I know that no matter what happens, I will always be here for Sweets and I will support him all the way!
