Sliding Doors

Every start of the year, it is but normal that we have our New Year's resolution.  Things that we want to change from ourselves for the better. Things that we write about but not all the time are happening.  It is not because we purposely do not want to do our resolutions but maybe because we did not write it wholeheartedly.

Another factor might be the circumstances that are beyond our control. Whatever they may be, it is not how it happened or how our plans didn't worked out, but how we take each moment as an opportunity for us to learn and to grow.

When I was in HighSchool, I saw this movie "Sliding Doors" by Gwyneth Paltrow and from that movie, I realized that our life is like sliding doors.  If I am not able to ride the train because the door closed, another train will arrive.

Similar to our everyday experiences, when one door closes, another will open and we are up for another ride of our lives.

The "What Ifs" in our lives are inevitable. After deciding on one thing, we tend to think of the circumstances if we had chosen the other side.

What if I broke up with him, will I still be this miserable?
What if I took Law, will I be this popular?
What if I bought Laptop instead of iPhone, will I be able to use it for work?

Or may be as simple as...

What if I was able to catch the school bus, will I be able to remember I left my ID at home?
What if I was able to take a vacant seat in Starbucks, will I be able to meet a new friend or maybe soulmate?

I believe that decisions and actions that were thoroughly thought of are worth every decision.  If in any case we fail, do not look at it as a failure or a wrong decision but something that will make us learn and realize that everything is worth the try and everything is a learning process.  One that will make us strong as we go along our this journey called Life.
