Happy Friday: Everybody Wins! 3 points how I did it!

Before we ended FY16, our team had our annual year-end activity and it was none other than a sport called "Bowling".  If you are aware, it's Sweets who loved this sport and I am a mere cheerleader -- had some problems at my back and thus was not able to even play.

Anyways, I think it's a great game choice because we all do not want to get sweaty under the heat of the sun -- Bowling Alley are air conditioned :)

We all can play but we were not experts and thus everything that happened was all about having fun, building relationship and TRYING (yes trying!) to even hit one PIN.

Lucky for me -- we were all normal  (mediocre) players -- not being able to hit a single PIN was like a norm -- haha!

Come awarding day -- I was surprised that I was one of the top scorers! I
even had an award for the "MOST NUMBER OF STRIKES" --- yes MOST NUMBER na ako ha :) If you would ask how many? I had two strikes!!

When I was telling Sweets -- i think what's going on at the back of his mind was:
"2 LANG?" --- "Well Sweets, hindi ako expert na kagaya mo!"

Learn more here --> Sweets Played Bowling!

ANYWAYS -- this is just my introductory story for the main story!
My realization is that -- in everything that we do, if we put our hearts in it, it will result to good things!

Like for this particular event that I was not even competitive because I really do not know how to play but only to find out that I indeed played well! ^_^

Simple things that I would like to share so that "WE ALL WIN".

1. Do not expect -- Do your best but do not expect for something in return.  Then if you will be rewarded because of what you did -- it will feel GREAT!

2. Communicate -- Tell something! Tell the people around you what you want.  How you want things to go and you will definitely get what you want -- Side note: you have to be patient of course!

3. Do not compare -- This is the greatest mistake one can make!  You will never be happy if you will compare yourself to others! Look at what you have achieved, what you have and BE HAPPY!  Remember, whatever it is that you have now that you are taking for granted, someone is praying for it!

Happy Friday: A Reminder!

One time my husband and I was on our way home while discussing some stuff that matters to our lives and then suddenly this.

I zoomed my eyes and took my camera to immediately make this shot.

It was in my phone that I read the entire message at the back of this tricycle and I was in awe.  I totally agree with this message and why do we have to see this message at the back of a tricycle while we were driving a car?

Have we (Sweets and I) thought of this? Us who is capable of buying the things that we want in life?  Have we thought that happiness is inward and not outward??

My point is: In life - we will always want something! Something that we feel will make us invincible or will make us famous.  But have we thought, even for a moment, that the simplest things are those that should always matter and should make us happy?

What are those simple things that money cannot buy? Here are my thoughts:

1. Your relationship with your family - the memories you've shared together.
May it be a simple meal together at home, jamming and singing time.
Simply listening to your mom or dad as they share their stories.
Helping your siblings with their school or life problems.

2. Doing what you really like to do - your passions! If you want to do journals!
If you like to be healthy then run, if you like to sing then do so!
It's a bonus if you love what you do at work! <I AM!>

3. Removing the negativities in your life - no explanation needed!
We are all old enough to know. *Wink*

Quoting the small text above:

" Beware! Don't always be wishing for what you don't have.  For REAL LIFE and REAL LIVING is NOT RELATED to how RICH you are".

This is an eye opener that I would like to share to everyone.
Happiness is within us an what other people tells us! :)

Happy Friday: I am Beautiful no matter what they say!

"Maganda daw Ako, yan ang sabi ng nanay ko!"

Everyone used this line one way or another in their lifetime and I'm one of them!  Do we really believe in that? Or do we just force ourselves in believing that statement because nobody ever told us we are beautiful?

I was looking outside the train window and saw some students busily combing and dong their make up -- then I asked myself "do they really need to do that?".

I was an HR Representative for five years and I have to look presentable (or should I say "I have to look beautiful")  -- thus I put a bit of blush on, lipstick and eye shadow.. I am always on high heels, dress and I had nice hair. But when i moved to HR Service desk, where I don't do "client facing" anymore, it all changed.  Makeup was not part of my purse anymore, my high heels went into a sabattical leave and my skirts unworn.  Was I still beautiful? I'd say yes!!

My point: even if we wore the nicest clothes or just an ordinary top and pair of pants -- beauty is beauty!

Beauty is (yes!) In the eyes of the beholder and beauty without character is nothing!

You can wear an expensive dress, use a signature bag and spray on a nice expensive perfume but if your character is not beautiful then everything is just crap!

Beauty for me is:

1. Having a sincere personality - someone who can say good things about people / friends even when their friends are not looking. In short - not backstabbers.

2. Having a good set of friends - meaning someone can validate your character and personality.  You are a good person to be with and people would love to join your company.

3. Having a healthy relationship - not only with friends (stated in #2) but also having a healthy relationship with your colleagues / neighbors / org mates / school mates. Someone who plays fair in the playing field, someone who knows how to admit mistakes and correct them, someone who you can reach out to in times of doubt.

4. Having the best support system, Family - beauty is reflected on how you treat your family.  Thus if you treat them with a lot of care and love then that's beauty in its finest!

5. Love for oneself - beauty is nothing if you don't believe in it.  People said I am beautiful because I said so and so should you!

People will choose to believe what they want to believe..
People will choose to see what they want to see..

At the end of the day it is "US" who determines it!
Not them.. And so if we believe in our heart of hearts that we are beautiful then that's true -- it is especially most uplifting if you have your friends and family who can validate that fact!

Are you?

Happy Friday: What do you choose today?

Wow! It's already Friday and the week is about to end.  It's one of those weeks that I was very pre occupied about work and other things that the week just passed by quickly.

Good thing, the plans I made for this week happened and I am very excited now for weekend.  How about you? How was your week? Was it tiring? Awesome? Routinary? Or same old, same old?

Whatever our week looked like, at the end of the week is always a weekend, so we always have to choose to be happy on a weekend! We don't want to burden ourselves by bringing along work on a weekend! This is a big No-No for me and I hope you do too!

For me its always important to choose happiness! It will not only lighten our day, we can also influence others yo be happy!! Right!!

Happy Friday: How do you measure Happiness?

How do you measure your happiness?

Different people knows how to measure happiness differently and more often than not it all boils down on how they grew up.

I was a simple girl back then (well up to now naman!) and the only thing I care about was if I have my luto lutuan to play with and my things for schooling.

I was very pleased when Mama would buy me a new set of Crayola or when Papa would bring pasalubong from work.

I was excited for weekends because that was our "bukid time" where all Hernandez Family meet up at our grandparent's house and play bingo.

I feel accomplished every time Mama would teach me for "Timpalak Bigkasan" or Vocal Solo even though I don't win.

I was excited every time I don't have class because Papa would bring us to his office and we can play with his computer and calculator.

I loved playing with the elephants, dancing in the rain and eating Ovaltine + Nido + Sugar (yes all dried and mixed up together).

Those were the times where my happiness were very simple.  They were very defined and it kept me going on for hours and hours.

Years passed by (yes so quickly) and it seemed like everything changed.  I have different priorities now and I no longer think about myself to be happy, like getting material things.  I look at the people around me and that's where I get my true happiness!

1.  When my family would (whether they like it or not) listen to my rendition of "The Climb" and cheer their lungs out for me.

2.  When Louise starts to say "Ate, knock knock"

3. When Mika would wait and pick me up sa kanto ng UCPB every time I go home in San Pablo.

4. When GbOy buy things for Mama, Louise, Mika and Papa -- Hindi kase siya kuripot. :p

5. Every time when Mama would prepare our breakfast at 6am but people start waking up at 10am

6. Every time Papa would prefer to go home instead of staying in his office dorm (which is 4 hours away from San Pablo)

7. Every time when Mama Lena would fix our bed and take care of us when we are sick.

8. Every time when Papa Nestor would wash our clothes and press them then bring to our room

9. Every time my best friends would laugh at my super corny jokes

10.  Every time Sweets would make me feel super beautiful and special -- too many to mention!

These are my simple joys and happiness and I don't know if there was ever a machine or calculator invented to measure the happiness that my Family and Best Friends bring.  In my heart, I measure them all as Blessings from HIM!

How about you? How do you measure your happiness?

Happy Friday: What makes us rule and rock!!

Sweets and I have been together for 7 years and we receive some questions regarding lasting relationships.

My simple answer would be:

Be each others stepping stone to stardom!
Be the inspiration to reach greater heights.
Be the encouragement to move forward from frustration and defeat.
Be the friend who gives that "pat on the back" for situations that needs praise.
Be the critic to highlight points for improvements.
Be the ear to listen then understand and not the mouth to nag.
No one is superior over the other, you are both the boss.
Be willing to talk and air your side, communication is key!

There are a lot more ways to build a lasting relationship, it really depends on the couple on how they handle things.  If you are in a relationship right now whether it's just starting or it's long standing, think of the reasons that both of you click, both of you are happy.  List it down and make it the foundation of your relationship.

It's so happy to be inlove so let's all be inlove!
